Carnes Elementary Solar Panel Installation
Carnes Elementary doesn't just TELL kids about making responsible energy choices. They lead by example; their new teaching tool is a terrific new solar panel system. We recently did an installation on the roof of Carnes Elementary. Here are a few photos of the solar panels and inverters.
This is the installation process on a bright sunny day. Our guys absorbed some solar rays of their own, so imagine how much power was being generated with the photovoltaic panels!
Here's another installation photo. This is a flat roof, so we set the panels on a 15º angle to get the most solar exposure possible. The solar panels are attached to a non penetrating, ballast mount racking system.
These are the five 6000us SMA that invert DC power into usable AC power. This system is a grid tied PV system.

The finished product -- a 27kW system, comprised of 150 each 180 Watt Sharp photovoltaic panels.
